A look back, 2007...
Many in our industry enjoyed 2006 activity because of post Katrina influences, but as 2007 unfolded it was not uncommon to hear that activity was running 60% of the prior year. Our success in 2007 was mixed with both commercial and residential activity. A 2007 goal to assist more clients residentially was realized with 7 sales in Jefferson, Orleans and St. Tammany Parishes, valued at $1,675,000 and including storm damaged “as is” properties both single and multi family type and non storm damaged property either in excellent condition or in need of renovation.
Overall The Stevens Group, Inc. closed over $9,635,000 of business in 2007.

A look ahead, 2008…
Rebuilding will continue in Katrina impacted areas. Property insurance costs will continue to challenge owners. An oversupply of single family residences will continue to burden the overall market.
However, at the start of the year we should find hope in new State leadership with Governor Jindal, lower interest rates, and a tourism sector that continues its rebound.

- Leased 19,500sf of warehouse space in New Orleans East.
- Represented the seller of the 125,000sf Stephen’s Chevrolet property in the Warehouse District of New Orleans.
- Named listing agent for 8700 West Judge Perez Drive, a 147,000sf retail center to be redeveloped in St. Bernard Parish. Currently working on over 60,000sf of retail leases.
- Named leasing agent for the Medical Center of East New Orleans, a 92,000sf medical office building.
- Project manager for the Toca Building, an 8,000sf office building in Kenner.
- Assiting Sure Save New Orleans in asset and property management of a 730 unit climate controlled self storage facility.
